Written Answers YB Dato 'Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz, Minister in the Prime Minister during the 2010 Budget debate rolls on the policy level 9 November 2009

Mr. Speaker of the

Regarding the fact that YB Ipoh Timur no political will (with permission) which was shown by the Prime Minister in the fight against corruption and the formation of SPRM and other reforms to fight corruption are ineffective, the actual statement on the matter YB is not altogether unfounded. In fact the record speaks for itself (with permission) has shown that the SPRM and committed and earnest in addressing corruption. This is evident through the statistics of arrests and charges members of political parties and senior government officials present moment I have just now.

Did the Government readiness leadership the Prime Minister to introduce the Whistle Blower Protection Act (with permission) to encourage the informant to come forward to expose the crime of corruption is an example of political will (with permission). Not just only that, the government also will add 14 units and 4 two Sessions Court High Court to expedite the process of hearing a case against 4 existing fruit Sessions Court.

In addition, when the country faced economic environment in which almost all the additional staffing in the various agencies frozen, the Government has allocated more than RM22 million to enable SPRM add a total of almost 600 officers in 2010. Extension is more than 32% of existing membership officer commission. This move proves the government's commitment in fighting corruption crimes with more aggressive again. I do not understand what the political will is desired by YB Ipoh Timur.

Other initiatives in the fight against corruption, especially that formed through NKRA will be announced by the Prime Minister soon. Therefore, the fact that YB Ipoh Timur said that efforts are not effective fight against corruption is not accurate memandanfkan initiatives are still not implemented again. YB Ipoh Timur Please be patient and make comments after building initiatives are implemented.

Mr. Speaker Sir,

YB Ipoh Timur want to know the number of reports made against officers over allegations SPRM use of force during interrogation. For information YB, based on records from 2005 to 30 September 2009 a total of 58 reports have been made to the police throughout the country regarding alleged use of force by officers of the ACA / SPRM on the investigation. However, so far no records of officer menumjukkan ACA / SPRM never charged in court or faced disciplinary action following the investigation conducted.

Information for Hon, there is a tendency when someone is arrested or investigated by the SPRM make a police report that they abused and forced to make confession to SPRM released on bail after SPRM. Their action is intended to prevent recognition they become evidence in court later. It may also be intended to gain sympathy and give the impression that enforcement agencies SPRM is cruel. SPRM and I urge the police to take stern action, including claims that they intentionally mebuat false reports regarding the use of force by SPRM act because they are actually malicious solely to pollute SPRM image and credibility as a commission that is responsible and professional.
