PM Wants To UMNO, BN Risen So The Number One

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak reminded UMNO and the Barisan Nasional (BN) at all levels to regain the title of 'champion' is missing after losing in some areas in the general election and avoid the term 'runner'.

The Prime Minister said, the title of runner-up does not have to exist in terms of political struggle for the prize is too bitter to accept. In fact, the BN had felt pain for the title runners-up and must work hard to reclaim their title of champion Grace ever enjoyed before.
"In regular competition, runner-up there is still a gift, but in politics, we will accept the consequences. We already know the fate of the party who lost, how bitter when the loser. Dignity, image of all affected and we need to constantly self-reflection.

"We need to realize, the history of the party's glorious past is no guarantee to retain power. It all happened because the political landscape changes and the thinking of society has changed, as never before," he said when opening the Umno division meeting in Mumbai yesterday.

President of UMNO and BN is also a reminder that every member of the party not to be too proud of symbols or images taken while the content of the class struggle is still low and failed to win the hearts of the people.

Instead, they must change over time because the more capable in all respects have a better chance to win.

Citing the example of how the government Malacca fell to the Portuguese in 1511, he said, factors caused the defeat of colonialism have all the modern equipment that can easily beat the army armed with spear and kris Malacca.

"If we still use the old weapons (long strategy), we can win the war is past time, but we may or may not win the war today.

"People now have changed the result of development. Many people have a higher education, socioeconomic status had increased and the explosion of information technology development. All of that requires us to be ready, make changes and pembugaran (fresh) again," he said.

He said that although highly educated people can review and receive a variety of government policies, they also want to evaluate a leader in the lower levels, whether it is consistent with the leadership or just go into the field to be seasonal.

He cynically reminded some grassroots leaders who only present themselves during the election season ahead and adopt the attitude of mere lobbying to become the candidate selected.

He said the BN leadership actually need a candidate who can win, a candidate who liked people and always work regardless of personal interest and not seasonal.

"The people most hate when we promise. If we want to help the people of promise, we have to make. In case of fire, flood or any other problems of the people, UMNO must be the first to help.

"People say, in love, there is a term from the eyes down to the heart, but in politics, from the mind down to the heart. The reason is that they like us because always helps, of course, their hearts will be linked to our struggle and the party. Not only by choice raya, we want to reconcile with the busy SB (Special Branch) to show us good, "he said.
